Do you want to have a once in a career opportunity to support Strategic Development service within the Children’s Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council?

Working as a key member of the team, you will provide administrative, financial and project support to school organisation and capital projects, helping the Council fulfil its statutory responsibilities for education provision.

This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who enjoys working across multiple projects, managing detailed information, and building positive relationships with schools and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Strategic Development Team in ensuring there are sufficient and suitable school places across the Island.
Assist with coordinating services and activities that help fulfil the Council's statutory duties relating to education provision.
Monitor and support schools' use of Devolved Capital Funding, ensuring expenditure aligns with grant conditions.
Produce and distribute regular capital budget statements and financial information to schools.
Provide financial administration support, including raising and managing orders through SAP/SRM systems.
Attend site meetings and support school reorganisation and development projects across the Island.
Provide drawings, plans and key information held by service areas as required.
Produce accurate and professional correspondence, reports, presentations, minutes and other documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Organise and coordinate meetings, including agenda preparation, minute taking and follow-up actions.
Deliver a high standard of general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, maintaining records and responding to routine enquiries.
