Joinery CAD Draughtsperson/CNC Programmer
Dovetail Specialist Joinery Ltd is an established joinery manufacturing company serving bespoke joinery and furniture to the domestic and commercial sectors for over 20 years. Based in Faversham, Kent, we are seeking a versatile Joinery Draughtsperson / CNC Programmer with extensive knowledge and experience in joinery production of cabinetry, furniture and architectural joinery.
The role of this position would cover the following –
- CAD design with Autodesk Software
- CAD/CAM Design with Cabinet Vision Software
- CAM design and Programming of 5 axis CNC
- Producing working Factory drawings for Manufacture
- Sourcing and Procurement of Hardware/ Fittings / Metalwork and specials from the Designs.
- Occasional Survey work to enable designs
It is paramount that the applicant is fully converse with Autodesk software namely Autocad and have knowledge of 3D software that will enable 5 axis CNC camming of parts. Experience with any of the following would be an extreme advantage;
- Fushion 360
- Alpha Cam
- Cabinet Vision
- Sketch Up
Applicants should have a vast breadth and high level of understanding regarding this position with proof and references of previous experience.

Skills and Qualifications Required;
- Joinery and furniture manufacture design role: min of 5 years (required)
- Practical hands-on experience in joinery and furniture production and/or CNC programming is desirable
- Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
- A thorough approach and attention to detail
- Understanding of workshop equipment, tooling, and machinery
- Produce manufacturing drawings, assembly sheets, cut lists, CNC programmes
- Commercial awareness and time-management skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Positive working attitude
- Passionate about design
- Willingness to learn and continually develop skills
- Translate concept drawings or visuals into shop drawings for manufacture and concept sign-off, principally using CAD software
- Produce drawings to the appropriate level of detail (including specialist materials) for manufacture
- Ensure deadlines are met and designs are produced efficiently
- Ideal candidates should have employment experience in joinery, furniture or kitchen design.
- A background in making furniture/joinery is essential.
- Experience in Camm with CNC is desirable.
