Join Barclays as a Quantitative Developer in our Global Markets Linear Rates Quantitative Analytics team. In this role, you will drive the modernisation of our linear rates analytics infrastructure: maintaining and extending production analytics libraries, building automated reporting pipelines, and developing real-time streaming capabilities. The role blends quantitative development with a strong automation mindset, building robust frameworks and services that are used across the business.

To be successful as a Rates Quant Developer, you should have:

A master's degree or equivalent in Financial/Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science
Excellent Python and C++ programming skills
Proven quantitative understanding of linear rates products and how they are priced and risk-managed
Ownership mentality and ability to support multi-faceted initiatives end-to-end
Clear written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders

Some other highly valued skills may include:

Knowledge of interest rate curve construction techniques
Experience with event-driven or stream-processing architectures (KDB+, Kafka etc.)
Experience building automated workflows and data pipelines in a quantitative or trading environment
Experience working within large, complex C++ and Python codebases

Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.

Accountabilities

Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.
