Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant/Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages and light food items, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times. The position offers an opportunity to develop barista skills within a dynamic environment, suitable for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with menu selections, taking orders accurately and efficiently
Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, tables, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling light snacks or baked goods when required
Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly and addressing any enquiries or concerns promptly
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards at all times

Skills

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role is desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Strong serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Good organisational skills with effective time management to handle busy periods efficiently
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
