Full job description

Are you the perfect co-pilot for a journey of delivering happiness? Do you enjoy being out on the road and making customers smile with every delivery?

Do you want to play a key part in delivering customer satisfaction one B&Q product at a time? If the answer is Yes, read on!

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Home Delivery team in Doncaster (DN6 7FB).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘Any 5 from 7’ pattern, with a start time of 06:30, contracted to 48 hours per week.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

An hourly rate of £12.71, that is an annual salary of 31,724.16

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Delivering kitchen and bathrooms to customer premises (room of choice) on multidrop basis
Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
Be prepared to commute to Doncaster (DN6 7FB) for the required shift pattern
