Purpose of the Role
The Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual leadership, conducting religious worship and ceremonies, teaching religious doctrine, offering pastoral care, and supporting the religious and community activities of the church. The role exists to advance the religious mission of the church organisation and promote the spiritual growth and well-being of its members and the wider community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Religious Worship and Ministry
- Plan, prepare, and lead regular worship services.
- Preach sermons and deliver biblical teachings in accordance with the doctrines and beliefs of the church.
- Lead prayer meetings, Bible studies, and other religious gatherings.
- Administer sacraments and ordinances as required by the church.
Pastoral Care and Spiritual Guidance
- Provide pastoral care, spiritual support, counselling, and spiritual guidance to members of the congregation based on the beliefs of KingsWord International Church.
- Visit members of the church in homes, hospitals, care facilities, and other locations as needed.
- Offer support during times of bereavement, illness, crisis, or personal difficulty.
- Encourage spiritual growth and discipleship among church members.
Religious Ceremonies
- Conduct church blessings for marriages, and conduct funerals, baptisms, child naming and dedications, and other religious ceremonies.
- Ensure all ceremonies are carried out in accordance with church doctrine and legal requirements.
Teaching and Training
- Teach religious education classes and discipleship programmes.
- Mentor church leaders, volunteers, and ministry workers.
- Develop and deliver training programmes that promote spiritual development and leadership skills.
Community Outreach and Mission
- Organise and participate in evangelistic outreach activities.
- Promote community engagement and charitable initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with community organisations and faith groups.
- Support programmes that address social, educational, and spiritual needs within the community.
Leadership and Administration
- Assist in the strategic planning and development of church ministries.
- Maintain accurate records relating to ministry activities and church membership.
- Lead fundraising activities in line with charity and fundraising regulations.
- Supervise ministry volunteers and support staff where required.
- Attend leadership meetings and contribute to the effective management of church and ministry operations.
- Ensure compliance with church policies, safeguarding requirements, and relevant legal obligations.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised training or equivalent ministerial qualification.
- Ordination, licensing, and formal recognition by KingsWord Ministries International.
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in religious ministry and pastoral leadership.
- Sound knowledge of scripture, theology, and religious practice.
- Experience in preaching, teaching, counselling, and conducting religious ceremonies.
- Experience of church planting and establishment of church structures.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong pastoral and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Ability to organise fundraising activities effectively to support church initiatives.

Working Hours
The position is full-time and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as necessary to fulfil ministerial duties.

Pay: £23,400.00 per year
