Job Title: Part-Time Industrial Sewing Machinist / Seamstress

Swytch Graphics Ltd is a Leicester-based print, production and display graphics business with nearly 40 years’ experience producing high-quality retail graphics, signage and display solutions for leading brands and agencies.
We produce a wide range of printed fabric graphics, including tension fabric displays used in aluminium frame systems. As demand increases, we are looking for an experienced sewing machinist/seamstress to support our production team on a part-time, flexible basis.
Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable sewing machinist/seamstress to help stitch Keder edging to printed tension frame fabrics.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone with strong sewing experience, good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with large-format printed fabrics. The role will be part-time and may be used to cover busy production periods, holidays and staff absence.
This is not a fashion or garment-making role. The work is mainly straight-line stitching, attaching Keder edging to fabric graphics so they can be fitted into aluminium tension frame systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Stitch Keder edging to printed tension fabric graphics.
- Work with large-format fabric prints, ensuring clean, accurate and consistent sewing.
- Follow production instructions, sizes and job specifications.
- Check finished items for quality, alignment and finish.
- Handle printed materials carefully to avoid marks, damage or creasing.
- Work with the production team to meet deadlines during busy periods.
- Keep the sewing area tidy and organised.
- Use sewing equipment safely and report any issues.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous sewing machine experience is essential.
- Experience with industrial sewing machines would be highly advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing neat, accurate work.
- Ability to sew straight and consistently over longer runs.
- Comfortable handling large pieces of fabric.
- Able to follow instructions and work to job specifications.
- Reliable, flexible and able to support the team when needed.
- Experience in signage, graphics, soft signage, textile production or display manufacturing would be beneficial, but not essential.
Working Pattern
This is a part-time, flexible role designed to support the business during busy periods, holidays and absence cover. Hours can be discussed depending on availability and production requirements.
