Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Compliance - QAHSE & Corporate Risk to lead our organisation’s compliance, quality assurance, health, safety, environment, and corporate risk management functions. The post-holder will design and embed an Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned to ISO standards, drive a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure full regulatory compliance across all business areas. Working closely with the Commercial & Supply Chain Director and business leaders, this role provides direction and hands-on leadership to a specialist QAHSE team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Integrated Management System (IMS), incorporating ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Set and enforce quality standards, policies, and best practices across all departments.
- Lead internal and external audit programmes; manage relationships with certification bodies.
- Oversee investigation and resolution of non-conformities, implementing effective CAPA (8D, FMEA).
- Act as the primary escalation point for customer quality concerns; support customer & supplier audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with commercial and programmes teams on contractual compliance commitments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the QAHSE team; foster a business-wide culture of quality and safety.
- Deliver training programmes on ISO requirements, QAHSE procedures, and regulatory changes across the business.
- Drive process improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce defects and enhance efficiency.
Essential Experience
- Degree / qualified by experience in Quality Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Lead auditor certification for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 (ISO/IEC 27001 advantageous).
- Extensive experience in Quality Management / Compliance / HSE / Corporate Risk in a regulated environment.
- Proven track record implementing and managing ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability; able to drive root-cause resolution.
Desirable Experience
- Significant experience in regulated environments such as Defence, Civil Nuclear, or Complex Manufacturing.
- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent H&S certification); IRCA-registered Lead Auditor.
- Experience of AQAP Allied Quality Assurance Standards and international standards.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and CI methodologies (Lean / Six Sigma).
Pay: £70,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
