Overview
We are looking for a practical, organised and detail-focused Project & Technical Design Administrator to support a busy project team on a major live project. This is a varied role covering project administration, technical design support and document control, so it would suit someone who is confident working with project documents, drawings and structured information.
The role will involve keeping project information accurate, up to date and easy to access. You will support project managers and the design team with administration, documentation, drawing coordination, reporting, client portal uploads and general project coordination, helping ensure information is issued clearly, consistently and on time.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing project administration and technical design support across a busy live project.
- Managing and updating project documents, trackers, registers and controlled information.
- Uploading and maintaining drawings, reports and project information on client portals or shared systems.
- Helping compile project submissions, including risk assessments, material information, fabrication details and process documents.
- Supporting the design team by keeping drawing information structured, clearly numbered and up to date.
- Assisting with formatting drawings and project documents so information is consistent and easy to follow.
- Tracking document revisions and making sure the right people have access to the latest information.
- Liaising with project managers, designers and other team members to gather information, clarify details and keep documents moving.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in project administration, technical administration, document control or a similar support role.
- Confidence navigating and understanding technical design drawings within a design, construction, fabrication, installation or technical project environment.
- A good level of Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Confidence working with structured project information, spreadsheets, trackers and reports.
- Good attention to detail and a structured approach to organising information.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with project managers, designers and wider teams.
- The ability to follow agreed processes while also spotting when information needs checking or clarifying.
- An understanding of drawing numbering, revision control or technical submissions.
- Experience using Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software.
Useful but not essential
- Experience uploading or managing information through client portals or document management systems.
- Previous experience in a creative build, construction, design, engineering, fit-out, scenic, themed entertainment or fabrication environment.
About you
You will be someone who enjoys bringing order to busy projects. You do not need to be a designer or quantity surveyor, but you will need enough technical awareness to understand drawings, recognise when information needs checking, ask sensible questions and help keep documents accurate as designs develop.
This role would suit someone who is organised, calm under pressure and comfortable supporting both administrative and technical tasks. You will work closely with project managers and designers, so a collaborative, practical and detail-focused approach is important.
