Job purpose
To safely manufacture cold rolled steel products to customer specification, ensuring all products meet company quality standards and production targets. The role involves operating and setting up cold roll forming machinery, maintaining equipment, carrying out quality inspections, and supporting continuous improvement within the department.
Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Set up, adjust and operate cold roll forming equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality.
- Carry out routine machine adjustments and changeovers.
- Inspect products against drawings and specifications.
- Verify lengths, hole positions, hole sizes, web dimensions and flange dimensions.
- Maintain product quality in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Carry out routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Report defects and support fault finding activities.
- Prepare, stack, band and pack finished products.
- Provide cover and support across production lines when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in manufacturing.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read production paperwork and technical drawings.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous roll forming or steel manufacturing experience desirable.

Terms of Employment
Hours:
Week 1 - Monday – Friday 06:00 – 14:00 (40 hours per week)
Week 2 – Monday – Thursday 13.45-23.45 (40 hours per week)
Pay: start rate £12.90-£14.00 per hour plus an additional 0.50p per hour for working a rotating shift pattern.
Overtime is paid for any hours worked over and above set hours in a month, as follows:
First 2 hours - basic x 1.3 subsequent hours during the week and at weekends - basic x 1.5
Holiday: Our holiday calendar runs run from January to December and we offer 184 hours (equivalent of 23 days based on a 5 day working week), plus national bank holidays, which is calculated pro rata if employment commences part way through the year. Some days have to be taken as holiday at Christmas when the factory is shut.
Health care scheme: We provide a primary health care scheme for all following successful completion of probation.
Pension: We have a work place pension with The People’s Pension into which employees are auto enrolled after 3 months
