We are looking for a QCF Level 3 qualified Senior Care Practitioner to join our family to undertake night shifts predominantly. As a Team Leader in care, you'll look after the physical, psychological and social needs of our residents to help us deliver the quality care they deserve.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake medication management and administer medication.

The generation of care plans for non-nursing residents, completing reviews in line with Caron Group policies and procedures.

To maintain accurate records and produce effective documentation.
-
To liaise with healthcare professionals and outside agencies, in the care and treatment of the residents and follow up
-
To monitor and guide the team to deliver person centred care.
-
Safely administer medications to residents.
-
Be proficient in the ordering of ad hoc and monthly prescriptions as directed by the manager.
-
Carry out routine audits as required by the manager, and feedback outcomes.
-
To promote positive outcomes that give the resident a sense of wellbeing, happiness and belonging whilst promoting independence, dignity and choice.
-
To supervise the team through regular Supervision and the Appraisal Process ensuring that objectives set, are both appropriate and attainable.
-
To support the team to gain the knowledge and skills required through the identification of training needs.
-
To appropriately oversee the smooth running of the unit during your span of duty.
-
To be aware of the required staffing levels in line with the requirements and skill mix and raise any concerns with the Manager/Nurse in charge.
-
To assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, toileting, bathing and at mealtimes.
-
To take appropriate levels of care when handling property belonging to residents, supporting the completion of property inventories as required.

To help residents who have mobility problems and other physical disabilities. To assist
-
in the use, maintenance and care of personal aids and equipment.
-
To promote the mental and physical wellbeing of residents through person centred interactions.
-
Promoting and facilitating the provision of suitable wellbeing activities for the residents.
-
To ensure that unnecessary damage to the building and contents is not caused by careless movement of residents' property - wheelchairs etc.
-
To make and change beds, empty commodes, tidy rooms and undertake designated cleaning duties in line with Infection Prevention and Control guidelines.

To assist in and monitor the dining experience.
-
To answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone and greet visitors professionally.
-
To read reports, take part in staff and residents' meetings and in training activities as directed.
-
To make written observations of the resident and escalate concerns in a timely manner.
-
To attend mandatory training courses relevant to the position as directed by the Manager.
-
Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particular moving and handling of loads, by assessing risk and having due regard for personal safety and the safety of residents, visitors and staff.

Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
-
To undertake such duties as may be mutually determined from time to time.

To work as a Keyworker to an allocated number of residents and to ensure their room is kept clean and tidy.
-
As a Keyworker, you will also be responsible for ensuring the resident has enough toiletries.
Further Responsibilities
In addition to their Main tasks, each Nursing Assistant/Senior Care Practitioner may be required to undertake the following tasks if competent to do so:

Monitor blood glucose levels

Change simple dressings

Mouth care

Eye care

Ear care
-
PEG feeding
-
Management and implementation of specialised equipment such as BiPAP machine, peg feed machine etc.

Monitoring vital signs (pulse rate and rhythm, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure)

Venepuncture

Catheter care
Requirements:

QCF Level 3 in Care (or equivalent)

Registration with Social Care Wales

Good communication skills

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Computer literacy skills
-
A proven record in the care of the elderly
-
A desire to provide excellent care through skilled team management.

Be able to relate to and care for older people in a sensitive manner

Maintain a person's dignity and respect

Have a good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety issues in Care Homes

Demonstrate a sound understanding of the needs of the older person and the role of a Nursing Assistant/Senior Care Practitioner
-
Demonstrates a willingness to undertake and develop clinical skills and competence relevant to the role.

Aged 18 or above.
Due to the nature of the clients we care for and their complex needs, we need to ensure that we are safeguarding minors and reducing their exposure to potentially challenging situations. The employment of individuals aged 16 and 17 is therefore not permitted for any roles within the group requiring delivery of direct personal care.
