Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber and Gasfitter to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and gas systems across various commercial and residential sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely in diverse environments. The position offers an opportunity to utilise a broad range of technical skills within a professional setting, contributing to high-quality service delivery.

Duties

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
Fit and commission gas appliances, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Use specialised tools such as hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry tools to complete tasks efficiently.
Conduct inspections of plumbing and gas systems to identify faults or potential issues.
Perform basic maths calculations for measurements, material quantities, and system specifications.
Assist with the assembly of components for plumbing or gas fitting projects.
Carry out heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation or repairs.
Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used for each project.
Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised following health and safety protocols.

Skills

Proven experience in plumbing and gasfitting with relevant certifications or licences.
Proficiency in welding techniques applicable to pipework repairs or modifications.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plumbing and gas fitting.
Strong mechanical knowledge related to pipe systems, fixtures, appliances, and associated components.
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for measurements, calculations, and system design specifications.
Competence in carpentry tasks related to framing or support structures when necessary.
Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks along with stamina for working on-site over extended periods.
Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for transporting materials or equipment between sites.
Experience in assembly processes involving plumbing or gas components is advantageous.

This role requires a proactive approach to safety, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship across all projects.

Pay: £200.00-£500.00 per day
