Full job description

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Band 6 Nurse to join our specialist community team based at the Acorn Centre, Vale of Leven Hospital. This rewarding role places you at the heart of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to children, young people and their families across West Dunbartonshire. You will play a key role in assessment, care planning and therapeutic intervention for those with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This post offers one full-time position (36 hours) and two part-time positions (25.2 hours each).

Base Location: Acorn Centre, Vale of Leven Hospital

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake holistic assessments, risk assessments and develop, implement and evaluate person-centred care plans for young people with complex mental health needs
Act as Named Nurse and Care Coordinator for a defined caseload, ensuring effective delivery of specialist interventions
Deliver evidence-based psychological and therapeutic interventions within individual and group settings
Work collaboratively with families, carers, education and partner agencies to support a systemic approach to care
Monitor and administer prescribed treatments and evaluate outcomes in line with clinical policies
Provide leadership, supervision and support to Band 5 staff, healthcare support workers and students
Contribute to clinical governance, service development and continuous improvement within the multidisciplinary team

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

First-level Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with current NMC registration
Educated to degree level or equivalent with evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
Demonstrable experience of working within mental health services and applying specialist clinical skills
Knowledge of risk assessment, mental health legislation and factors impacting emotional wellbeing
Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously
Experience of multidisciplinary team working and building therapeutic relationships with children, young people and families
Ability to prioritise workload, demonstrate leadership skills and contribute to supervision and mentorship of others
