As we continue to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team. This hands-on role will provide accurate financial reporting, commercial analysis and financial support to the Managing Director and management team, helping drive informed decision-making and the continued success of the business.The Role
You will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting while providing commercial analysis that supports business decisions. Beyond producing management accounts, you will help improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, optimise cash flow and provide the wider management team with clear, timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow statements.
· Produce weekly KPI dashboards and monthly Board reports.
· Own the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
· Manage weekly cash flow forecasting and working capital.
· Analyse profitability by customer, project and product line.
· Support pricing decisions, tender reviews and investment appraisals.
· Monitor manufacturing costs, labour recovery, WIP, stock valuation and gross margins.
· Prepare VAT returns, statutory reporting and year-end accounts with external accountants.
· Maintain robust financial controls and compliance.
· Oversee payroll and finance administration.
· Identify and implement process improvements, automation and reporting enhancements.
· Provide commercial advice to senior management to support growth.
· Support grant claims, capital investment projects and strategic planning.
About You
· Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
· 2 year post qualification experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial sectors.
· Strong understanding of management accounting, costing, WIP and inventory.
· Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
· Advanced Excel and experience with Sage or equivalent ERP systems.
· Confident presenting financial information to Directors.
· Experience improving systems and business processes.
· Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
