We are seeking a Production Supervisor to work at our wood packaging production facility
at 17 Napier Street, Belfast, BT12 5FE.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations within our wooden packaging facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production teams, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality output. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate daily activities efficiently to meet production targets. The Production Supervisor will play a key role in fostering a safe, productive, and organised working environment.
Duties
- To allocate the production of manufactured goods and ensure contracts are carried out to the customer’s specifications.
- To ensure the requirements of FJL’s Health & Safety systems are adhered to, ensuring safe working conditions, systems and methods of working within the department.
- Responsible in conjunction with the Production Director in maintaining adequate stock levels of all raw materials.
- To work in the timber department sawmill using various types of cutting machinery.
- To achieve effective utilisation of machinery, manpower and raw materials.
- To ensure the requirements of FJL’s ISO9000 quality systems are adhered to.
- General care and tidiness of machines and production area on a daily and weekly basis and to ensure any problems are immediately reported to management.
- To ensure at all breaks and finishing times buildings are properly secured or will be properly secured and all necessary heat, light, extraction & power appliances are utilised economically.
Requirements
At least 4 Years experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Counterbalance forklift certificate/licence
Al least 1 Years experience with ISO 9000 quality systems
Desirable
Previous experience of working with wooden /packaging products
The ability to supervise production staff
Computer literate in business computer systems
The ability manage effective utilisation of machinery, manpower and raw materials
Have a First Aid Certificate
39 hours per week
7:00am – 12:15pm 12:45pm – 4:00pm - Monday to Thursday
6:00am – 11:00am – Friday – Some flexibility maybe required
