Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Butcher / General operative to join our production team. This role involves supporting food manufacturing processes within a busy environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will play a vital part in the smooth operation of our production line, contributing to the creation of top-quality food products. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the food industry.

Duties

Assisting with the preparation and processing of food products in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards
Operating basic machinery and equipment used in food production, with training provided
Ensuring cleanliness and organisation of work areas to meet hygiene regulations
Monitoring production processes to ensure consistency and quality of products
Recording measurements and quantities accurately using basic maths skills
Supporting team members in meeting production targets efficiently and safely

Skills

Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations is desirable
Previous experience in food production or manufacturing environments is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, weights, and quantities
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards health and safety standards
Experience in boning and trimming beef is an advantage but not necessary.
