The Role
We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual to fulfil the role of Laser Automation Programmer within our team. You will be responsible for creating, optimising, and managing CNC laser programs together with robotic sorting automation programming to ensure maximum machine efficiency, material utilisation, and production output.

Key Responsibilities
· Programming CNC laser cutting machines (Bystronic experience desirable)
· Creating and optimising nests for efficient material usage
· Creating and optimising sorting and storage plans
· Supporting production to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime
· Collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturability
· Maintaining program libraries and documentation
· Troubleshooting programming and machine-related issues
· Continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement
· Reverse engineer parts for manufacturing
· Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.
About You
· Ideally suited to a graduate keen to use state of the art automated manufacturing equipment.
· Previous experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid works, etc)
· Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
· Familiarity with nesting software (e.g. BySoft or similar)
· Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
· Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable (but not essential)
· Previous experience in laser programming within a sheet metal environment
· Experience with Bystronic laser systems
· Knowledge of automated material handling systems
· CAD/CAM experience
