Are you an experienced, chartered Senior Building Surveyor looking for an exciting new role at a leading firm that work with prestigious clients?
Bidwells have a newly created opportunity for a passionate, self-motivated Senior Building Surveyor to join our Rural Estate Management and Professional department. The successful candidate will play an essential role working closely with a key client that we have a strong, long-standing relationship with, working across their interesting and significant portfolio.
This role can be based either in our Perth or Inverness office, with agile working options.
What you’ll be doing

Work on and project manage a range of instructions received from clients and colleagues to include house refurbishments, farm building repairs and construction, ground works and other building projects on rural estates

Demonstrate due diligence in carrying out professional work

Prepare specifications and contract tender documentation

Supervise contractors and liaise with consultants

Report as required to the client/s, agreeing variations and deliver projects on time, within budget

Fully understand client needs and requirements

Build and maintain relationships with existing clients and seek new clients and instructions

Build internal relationships to ensure cross selling of work

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant Building Surveying legislation, standards and regulations and share relevant information

Ensure best practice and policy/procedure compliance

Maintain administrative and ad hoc duties as needed
About you
-
A relevant or RICS accredited qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent.

Ideally chartered (MRICS).

Solid building surveying experience, preferably with some experience in the rural sector.

Professional services or consultancy experience would be an advantage.

Professional and personable client care skills.

Have an awareness and understanding of issues affecting the economy and implications on the firm and on building surveying.

Flexible and adaptable.

Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.

Strong IT skills, specifically in the Microsoft Office package.

CSCS card holder (desirable).
