Join One of Northumberland's Leading Restaurants

The Potted Lobster is an award-winning seafood restaurant in the heart of Bamburgh, renowned for exceptional seafood, seasonal produce and warm, professional hospitality.

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of our kitchen. This is a leadership role requiring someone who is organised, commercially aware and passionate about delivering consistently outstanding food while managing every aspect of the kitchen operation.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will lead the kitchen team and oversee all aspects of kitchen management, ensuring high standards of food quality, service and compliance are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
Manage staffing levels, rotas and recruitment.
Oversee all food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
Ensure GP targets are achieved through effective cost control and waste management.
Maintain full compliance with food safety, HACCP and health & safety regulations.
Deliver consistently high-quality food and presentation.
Work alongside management to create seasonal menus and daily specials.
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
Train and mentor chefs and kitchen staff to support their development.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Proven experience as a Head Chef in a busy, quality-led restaurant.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Experience managing kitchen ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
A strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and kitchen compliance.
Experience managing staffing, recruitment and labour costs.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A passion for fresh, seasonal produce and delivering exceptional food.
