Beadlight Ltd is a specialist aerospace manufacturing company designing and manufacturing high-quality lighting and touchscreen solutions for the Aerospace, Maritime and Commercial sectors.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on operational role that would suit someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem-solving and can confidently manage changing priorities in a busy production-led business. The successful candidate will lead a small team of three and play a critical role in ensuring materials, subcontract processes and supplier performance support production and customer delivery requirements.

This is not a purely strategic procurement position — we are looking for someone prepared to be fully involved in the day-to-day running of the department and capable of managing urgent supply challenges when they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day procurement activities of the business
Manage and support a small procurement team of three
Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements
Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
Manage supplier performance, lead times, quality and cost negotiations
Expedite critical parts and resolve supply issues in a timely manner
Coordinate subcontract finishing processes and external supplier activity
Work closely with production, planning, engineering and stores teams to manage priorities
Produce procurement and supplier performance reports for management
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
Support recruitment, training and development within the procurement team
Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and aerospace traceability requirements

Skills & Experience Required

Previous procurement or purchasing management experience within manufacturing
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure
Experience managing supplier performance in a fast-moving environment
Confident people management and leadership skills
High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
Understanding of AS9100 and aerospace traceability requirements

Highly Desirable

Experience managing subcontract finishing processes such as anodising, plating, painting or specialist coatings
Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industry experience
Experience within low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments
