Curtains Made Simple has spent 15 years turning made-to-measure curtain and blind ordering into something genuinely simple for our customers. Having launched a brand, new website very recently and seen an upturn in sales, we need someone with high energy who thrives on operations to help lead the way.
We’ve created a varied and exciting new role for our small Oxford-based team, and this is not a job where you sit still. One minute you are placing a fabric order, the next you are talking a customer through their measurements; next on your list is briefing our curtain makers & planning next week's Instagram post. What you will actually be doing
Key Responsibilities
Leading our small team of curtain and blind makers
- Line-manage three freelance makers plus a larger partner workroom, keeping everyone's workflow and work tickets moving smoothly
- Be the calm, organised hub that the team relies on when priorities shift
Keeping our fabric supply running like clockwork
- Place and manage orders with our fabric suppliers
- Build strong relationships with fabric brand representatives
Being the voice our customers trust
- Handle pre-order enquiries by phone and email
- Put together quotes for prospective customers
- Sort out any issues with orders and keep customers updated as things progress
- Welcome and guide customers who visit our Oxford showroom
Helping our story reach more people
- Help shape and run our digital marketing plan
- Create posts and reels for Instagram and Facebook
- Build inspiring Pinterest boards
- Help create newsletters that our customers look forward to
Growing the business, not just running it
- Work closely with our Operations Manager to sharpen and improve how we do things
- Participate in our ActionCOACH business development programme, so you are building skills that go well beyond this role
What we are looking for
- A brilliant communicator, on the phone, by email and in person
- Someone who genuinely cares about giving customers a great experience
- Strong numeracy
- Sharp attention to detail with the ability to juggle several things at once
- Happy working independently, and just as happy pitching in as part of a small team
- Confident with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Background in operations and administration
- Some experience in digital marketing
- A love of interiors or fabric is a bonus, but not essential
