Business Development Manager Plumbmaster

Join a Leading Timber & Builders’ Merchant

Haldane Fisher is a well-established and respected timber and builder’s merchant, known for innovation, quality, and excellent customer service.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that values its people and offers a stable role with consistent hours and a supportive working environment.

Job Purpose

Win and grow profitable new business across the trade, building long-term customer relationships and developing the branch customer base.

As a customer-facing role, the post-holder is an ambassador for Haldane Group and is expected to represent the brand positively at every interaction - in person, by telephone and in writing.

What you'll be doing

Identify, target and convert new business.

Grow existing accounts and share of spend.

Build a strong pipeline and hit targets.

Represent the business at customer sites.

Feedback market intelligence.

Professional, courteous and solution-focused communication with trade, merchant and retail customers, presenting a smart, approachable and knowledgeable image at all times.

Sound knowledge of the relevant timber and merchanting product range, with the ability to advise customers accurately and recognise sales and service opportunities.

Ownership of customer queries through to resolution, escalating appropriately and following up to confirm satisfaction.

What you'll bring

Essential

Field business-development experience.

Strong relationship and closing skills.

Self-motivated, target-driven.

Able to meet the health & safety, legislative and competency prerequisites for the role, including any required licences, tickets, training and Opus SMS responsibilities.

Personal attributes aligned to our values with a safety-first, customer-focused and reliable approach.

Valid driving licence and good record.

Desirable

Construction-products knowledge.

Customer network.

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 Fridays 08:00 - 16:00
