Graduate Mission Operations Associate (Permanent)
sees.ai | Chichester, UK | Field & Office
Start your career working with advanced technology in real-world operational environments - not just in a lab or on paper.
At sees.ai, we're expanding our Operations team as demand for our technology continues to grow. This is a permanent graduate position with genuine long-term career opportunities - not a graduate scheme with a fixed end date.
We deploy autonomous UAS to inspect critical national infrastructure across the UK. We're looking for multiple graduates who've already used UAS or technical field equipment to get a job done - in a survey, research project, inspection, conservation project or similar context - and who want to build a career at the sharp end of real-world UAS operations.
If you're looking for a role where you'll take on real responsibility from day one, work alongside experienced operators and engineers, and develop as the company grows, we'd love to hear from you.
Why we're hiring
We're entering an exciting period of growth, with more operational deployments than ever before.
As our Operations team expands, we're looking to bring several graduates into the business over the coming months. Rather than joining a structured graduate scheme, you'll become a permanent member of the team from day one, learning alongside experienced colleagues while contributing to live operations across the UK.
The Role
This is an entry-level permanent role for graduates who want to build a career in technical operations.
You'll be planning and delivering real UAS missions in live environments – where weather changes, access is constrained, and the quality of your preparation and judgement directly affects outcomes.
Our UAS operate through software-based control systems and real-time dashboards. You don't need to be able to build them - you need to be able to plan, execute, and adapt when things don't go to plan.
You'll split your time between field deployments across the UK and planning, analysis, and preparation at our Chichester base. This is a role for people who are genuinely energised by being out on operations - not just comfortable with it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating UAS missions via software-based control systems and real-time dashboards
- Planning and coordinating deployments, balancing weather, logistics, and operational constraints
- Managing site logistics including travel, access, accommodation, and contingencies
- Capturing and validating inspection data in the field
- Acting as the link between field operations and engineering, providing structured, useful feedback
- Maintaining high safety and operational standards across all environments
- Contributing to how we improve mission planning and execution as we continue to scale
Who This Role Is Suited To
This role suits graduates who combine technical grounding with a genuine enthusiasm for operational, field-based work.
You'll likely have:
- A degree in a discipline that involves analysis, data, and judgement (eg: Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, STEM)
- Experience operating UAS, technical field equipment, or similar tools to get a job done – in a research project, survey, inspection, conservation, or operational environment – not just recreationally
- A genuine appetite for field work: you're as comfortable on a wind-swept site as you are in front of a screen
What matters most is how you work:
- You think systematically and plan ahead, rather than reacting on the fly
- You exercise good judgement when conditions are uncertain
- You take a conscientious, detail-oriented approach to execution
- You enjoy solving practical problems and adapting when circumstances change
- You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
- You stay calm and focused when working through systems, data, and real-world constraints
A structured mindset and a track record of using equipment purposefully in the field matter far more here than flight hours or technical qualifications.
Essential Requirements
- Degree-level education in a technical discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
- Based in the UK with unrestricted right to work
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK
- Practical experience operating UAS, field survey equipment, or similar technical tools in a purposeful context – academic, commercial, or research
- Strong technology literacy
- Confidence working independently in field-based environments
- Clear, structured communication skills
- Full and unlimited authorisation to work full time in the UK
A GVC or A2 Certificate of Competency is helpful, but not required at application stage.
