We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused individual to join our Planning Support Team for two days a week.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Development Management Service, providing high-quality administrative support and helping to deliver an effective and responsive planning service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

Responding to telephone enquiries and providing frontline customer support
Managing and monitoring planning-related email inboxes
Processing neighbour and consultee responses
Scanning, uploading and managing plans, correspondence and other documentation
Logging planning applications and pre-application enquiries accurately and efficiently

As experience develops, the candidate will support:

Preparation and issuing of decision notices
End‑to‑end processing of planning applications
Registration and validation duties

Whilst previous experience of planning administration would be beneficial, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator, has excellent organisational skills, pays close attention to detail, and is keen to learn about the planning system and local government processes.
