Head chef role

Salery - £42.000

Live in – Available, small fee

A historic country hotel set on the outskirts of the Lake District, is looking for a passionate Head Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and work with our Executive Chef, Craig Belston to lead and manage our 1 Rosette award Restaurant.

This role requires a chef who has been trained and has years of experience in a hotel environment, and is ready to take the next major step in their career.

You will work closely with Craig to develop menus, mentor the kitchen team, and help shape the future direction of a growing restaurant.

To lead, manage, and organize aspects of the food production to the highest professional standards and in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure. Further responsibility for running the kitchen with creativity and in an innovative way by introducing new dishes and products on the market.

Lead the team in effectively delivering departmental goals. Plan and organise work activities and continuously seek to improve ways of working and engaging the team to do the same.
Collaborate closely with Chef’s to plan menus, products and seasonal offerings for the restaurant
Management of food costs
Manage efficient stock control and procedures.
Maintain a safe, healthy and secure workplace environment, following all work protocols and engaging the team with training initiatives.
Monitor and analyse guest feedback to improve food and presentation quality.
Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards, while continually looking to improve

Proven track record as a Head Chef with at least 2 years’ experience.
Holder of Food Hygiene Level 3 certificate and Health and Safety certificates.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and a drive to maintain high food quality standards.
Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
Resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Commercially astute and knowledgeable about the latest food trends.
Proven experience of managing, coaching and developing teams.
Approachable and positive manner with a “can do” attitude.
