What is the role?

Make a difference every day as a Kitchen Assistant at Hafod.

You will play an important role in supporting the Cook to prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for residents within our Extra Care Scheme. This is a hands-on role where your contribution helps create a safe, hygienic and welcoming dining experience for older people, supporting their wellbeing and independence.

We put people first, offering great training, supportive teams and opportunities to grow your career in care.

Please note: We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

What you’ll be doing

Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and beverages to a high standard
Maintain excellent hygiene and cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas in line with food safety standards
Carry out general kitchen duties such as washing up, setting tables and serving meals
Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and report any faults or issues
Follow health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH policies always while working as part of a team

What you’ll bring

A positive, practical approach with a willingness to learn and undertake training
Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
The ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
A commitment to delivering a high-quality service and responding to individual needs
A caring and respectful attitude, with understanding and reliability when supporting older people

Previous catering or care experience is desirable but not essential. We’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
