Full job description

Design Engineer

12 month contract. Hybrid / Essex – four days per week on site in Essex

We have an exciting opportunity to join our client’s expanding team in Essex, as a Design Engineer.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and support Studio Engineering Feasibility and Design Process
Studio Design Feasibility Status, Hard points plan and Executive Summary
Coordinate and support benchmark for technical solutions applicable to the attributed project
In charge of the CAD design and development of highly complex components as single part and parts assembly with interdependent functionalities
Coordinate and support technical communication with Design and all non-Design Departments
Check incoming data from internal and external suppliers for compliance
Ensure feasibility and appropriate dimensioning of the developed CAD data (e.g., strength, rigidity, cross-sections, centers of gravity, Masses, moments of inertia)
Support the internal and constant process improvement in terms of CAD data timing and quality delivery
Embrace cross-project development teams
Coordinate and support the documentation and archives of the created CAD data
Develop product presentations relative to the developed CAD data

Essential Experience & Skills:

Design feasibility and CAD engineering experience
Design Aesthetic Understanding
Curious mind / Innovation mindset
Collaborative Mindset both inside and outside Design
Organisation skills
Team-oriented working
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive exterior or interior Studio Engineering within Design

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field

Hours, Location & Additional Information:

Rate – Negotiable
37.5 hours
12 month contract
Hybrid / Remote – On site in Essex four days per week
Position confirmed inside IR35

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to £37.25 per hour
