Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Transport Clerk to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage shipping and receiving documentation, and ensure smooth communication across the supply chain. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help optimize our freight operations, support our supply chain efficiency, and maintain accurate records. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic logistics environment where your efforts directly impact operational success.

Duties

Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule, track, and document shipments efficiently.
Enter data accurately into systems such as AS400 and SyteLine to process shipping, receiving, and inventory updates.
Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to arrange pickups, deliveries, and freight movements.
Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring timely dispatches and deliveries while verifying shipment details.
Maintain clear communication with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams via phone and email using professional phone etiquette.
Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Support the documentation of logistics activities through precise data entry and record keeping.

Skills

Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), AS400, and SyteLine for seamless logistics operations.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including shipping & receiving procedures.
Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to coordinate freight services.
Excellent analysis skills to interpret transportation data and optimize workflows.
Effective communication skills for liaising with carriers, vendors, and internal teams confidently.
Attention to detail in data entry tasks related to shipping documentation and inventory records.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Good typing skills for quick data input; familiarity with phone etiquette for professional interactions.
