Hours: Full-time, Part-time, Flexible Working Considered

At Comprehensive Therapies based in The Open Practice, we believe excellent care comes from understanding the whole person rather than simply treating a diagnosis. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with experience and interest in working with children, adolescents, and families to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within an innovative service that integrates psychology, neurodevelopmental services, physical rehabilitation, medicine, nutrition, mindfulness-based approaches, and emerging neuroscience-informed interventions. You will work alongside psychologists, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neurodevelopmental specialists, GP’s, psychiatrists, and other medical and rehabilitation professionals within a CQC registered purpose-built clinical environment that includes consultation rooms, therapy spaces, and a rehabilitation gym group/training space.

The Open Practice is a CQC registered private healthcare service based in Basingstoke, providing expert-led mental health and physical wellbeing support through integrative care. Our specialists work together across psychological therapy, physiotherapy, nutritional therapy and other evidence-informed treatments. We believe in the mind-body connection, ensuring that mental and physical health care are seamlessly integrated. Through collaboration with charities, universities and other organisations, we continually expand our expertise to deliver personalised, holistic care for individuals and families.

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, consultation, and evaluation for children, adolescents, and families within a multidisciplinary clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

Undertake psychological assessments.
Develop evidence-based formulations.
Deliver individual, family, and group interventions.
Produce clinical reports and correspondence.
Undertake risk assessments and risk management planning.
Maintain accurate clinical records.
To create a safe and supportive therapeutic space for clients.

MDT Working

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals.
Support integrated care planning.
Liaise with schools, families, and relevant agencies.

Research and Service Development

Participate in clinical audits and service evaluation.
Support research activities.
Contribute to development of innovative services.
Promote evidence-based practice.

Professional Responsibilities

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or due to qualify imminently) as accredited by the BPS.
Eligible for HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Experience

Experience working with children and adolescents.
Experience conducting psychological assessments.
Experience delivering evidence-based interventions.
Experience working with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge

NICE guidance relevant to child and adolescent mental health.
Psychological models of formulation and intervention across conditions.
Safeguarding and risk principles.
Awareness of record keeping, data protection and confidentiality principles
Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and data analysis

Skills

Skills in conducting psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention
Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate clinically sensitive information to clients and/or professional colleagues
Strong report-writing abilities.
Ability to work independently and within teams.
Ability to manage a varied caseload.
