We’re looking for a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our team and play an important role in the day-to-day running of our pub.
This is a 42-hour-per-week contract. Looking for someone who enjoys a busy hospitality environment, is confident dealing with customers and staff, and has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
A key part of the role will be managing bookings, functions and events, making sure every detail is organised and that our customers have a great experience from their initial enquiry through to the event itself.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the pub
- Take responsibility for bookings, functions and events, including customer enquiries, planning and coordination
- Communicate with customers to understand their requirements and ensure their expectations are met
- Manage the booking diary and keep all event and function information accurate and up to date
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure events and bookings run smoothly
- Carry out a range of administrative duties, including emails, booking records, reports, rotas and general paperwork
- Help lead, support and motivate the team, particularly during busy periods
- Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation
- Deal confidently and professionally with customer queries and resolve any issues that arise
- Support the General Manager with staff training, organisation and the overall performance of the pub
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or management position
- Highly organised, with excellent administration and time-management skills
- Experienced in handling bookings, private functions and events
- Confident communicating with customers, colleagues and suppliers
- Calm and capable of managing multiple tasks in a busy environment
- A natural team leader who can motivate and support others
- Friendly, approachable and passionate about delivering great customer service
- Reliable, proactive and willing to get stuck in wherever needed
Previous experience managing bookings and events is particularly important for this position.

Sitting on the edge of Clifton Village, the pub is a stunning grade II listed building with a large covered and heated beer garden, outdoor projector and upstairs bar available for private hire.
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
