SUMMARY AND PURPOSE OF ROLE:
As a Production Shift Coordinator you will be the key component to your shift’s success.
Reporting into the Site Production Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day execution and on-floor control of production, ensuring the plan is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard across both sites during your shift.
Your focus is on an hour-by-hour delivery and issue resolution, supporting food processors and keeping the operation running smoothly.
You will:
- Coordinate daily production activity and labour deployment.
- Main on-floor control of output, safety and standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for operators during the shift.
- Assist on the line when required to support delivery.
- Identify issues early and ensure they are resolved or escalated promptly.
- Ensuring the plan is executed as intended.
- Escalating risks and issues quickly.
- Supporting CI through root cause analysis and preventative actions.
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years of food or related production experience (ideally short shelf-life products).
- Previous experience working in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3, TACCP/VACCP Level 2.
- Proven experience managing large teams and delivering operational performance and people development.
- Sound knowledge of packing technologies such as vacuum, flow-wrap and MAP packing.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, SMED, RCA, Pareto, Fishbone, Change Management).
- Ability to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement.
Desirable:
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green belt
- NEBOSH or NCRQ Safety Qualifications
- Degree Qualified
- Experience in multi-site manufacturing operations
Working Hours:
- 10pm-6am Sunday to Thursday- Night Shift
