Here at Mills & Reeve we are looking to hire a Senior Bid Advisor into our established team, to be part of our national Marketing group.

Mills & Reeve is a national law firm renowned for its people-first culture. Following continued growth and a number of high-profile panel appointments, we are seeing a significant increase in tender activity and we're now looking for an experienced Senior Bid Advisor to join our established and high-performing Bid Team.

The role

As a Senior Bid Advisor, you'll play a key role in maintaining and strengthening the firm's impressive bid win rate. Joining a collaborative Bid Team of seven, you'll take responsibility for managing and delivering tenders across the firm, working closely with partners, lawyers and senior stakeholders.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines bid project management with high-quality content drafting. You'll ensure bid best practice is followed at every stage of the process, while also contributing strategically to complex and high-value bids. You'll be supported by a Head of Bids who actively champions team development and progression, with real opportunities to grow your career.

The person

You'll bring significant bids experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment, and be confident operating at both a strategic and operational level.

You'll be:

Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of clients and their industries
An excellent writer, with strong drafting, editing and proofreading skills
Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
A proactive self-starter with strong project management and communication skills
Confident influencing and persuading senior stakeholders and speaking with clients
IT literate, comfortable using tender portals and embracing AI-enabled bid tools
Flexible, collaborative and positive with a good sense of humour

A CIM marketing qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.

The activities

Your role will include:

End-to-end project management of bids across public and private sector opportunities
Drafting, editing and producing compelling bid content using plain English and clear sales messages
Advising and guiding stakeholders through the bid process with confidence and credibility
Using the firm's automated bid system and centralised knowledge base, including AI tools, to work efficiently and effectively
Collaborating on strategic bids alongside senior members of the Bid Team
Supporting legal teams through to presentation stage where required
Ensuring accuracy, consistency and attention to detail across all submissions
Contributing to continuous improvement of bid systems, processes and best practice
Supporting wider strategic projects and team initiatives
