An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Coordinator to join our busy team at East Anglian Galvanizing Ltd based in Sawtry, PE28 5XN. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 15 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
As the site Technical Services Coordinator you will help to deliver our Company’s customer promise - “Excellence in product and service quality consistently delivered” through owning and driving the Quality Management and Environmental Management systems on site.
You will also help to deliver our Company’s vision of being the ‘The Galvanizer of choice’ through championing high-quality products and service to all our customers. Using corrective actions, 5 why and 8D techniques you will evaluate quality performance.
Main duties include:
- Performing quality compliance audits on the finished product, reporting and analysing the data.
- Manage the sites quality environmental management systems, as part of the organisation’s ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations.
- Manage the chemical and metallurgical process line.
- Monitor and manage the complaints system, looking for opportunities to improve quality and service.
- Champion the use of structured problem solving (e.g., corrective action system, 5 Why, 8D)
- Provide technical support and guidance.
- Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Who would suit this role?
This role would suit someone who is driven, self-motivated and has a ‘can-do’ attitude.
You need to have a good level of IT literacy, the ability to lead improvement activities and demonstrate commitment for maintaining high standards of quality management.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual capable of good communication and cooperation with colleagues and other stakeholders. Experience in direct liaison with customers and maintaining high standards of customer service would be desirable, as would proven experience working with structured problem-solving techniques (such as 8D).
Any previous galvanizing or steel experience would be beneficial.
Knowledge of the galvanizing process, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 is advantageous but not essential.

Hours?
Working Monday to Friday - working hours to be agreed with your line manager (usually worked in 8-hour slots at some point between 07:00 and 18:00, with occasional changes to see night shift).
