Overview

We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic School Catering Assistants to support the delivery of high-quality meal services within a busy school environment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, serving meals to students and staff, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining area. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring pupils receive nutritious meals in a welcoming and well-organised setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation in line with kitchen guidelines and menu requirements.
Serve meals to pupils and staff in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, dining areas, and food service equipment.
Support the setup and clearing of dining areas before and after meal service.
Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.
Replenish food counters and supplies during service periods.
Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth meal service during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, food service, or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
A positive, reliable, and professional attitude.
Ability to work within a school environment and follow safeguarding procedures.
Food hygiene certification is advantageous but can be provided if required.
