Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting primarily into the Production Supervisor and working within the production team to build, QC and ship customer orders. In addition this role will also functionally report into the Sales and Purchase Depts whereby you will learn sales and purchasing operations including sales, shipping, purchasing and production specifications including returns and quality management with a view to progress in the future into these depts. The role includes the following duties which you must fulfil to the best of your ability;
· Assembly of customer orders including software installation and performance testing
· Responsible for final QC checks prior to shipping, resolving errors on incorrect builds and completing paperwork for shipment and reporting issues to relevant people
· Testing of RMA components by performing diagnostics and where possible resolving faults. Including updating FileMaker RMA records and resolving stock anomalies in the system
· Liaising with R&D, Technical Support and Sales departments to suggest updates to software systems and processes that improve our product quality
· Reporting back to management team on potential technical and design issues that may affect products or other business functions
· Supporting the Junior Computer Technicians (and trainees) with; workload management, answering assembly related queries and resolving stock queries
· Supporting the sales and purchasing operations (with structured training) with sales, shipping, purchasing and other relevant duties (as required)
· Keeping a tidy and safe work area
· Removal of refuse from the workshop
· Quality Control of finished products before shipping
· Packaging of products for shipment
Person Specification
Essential;
· Detail orientated and works with a high degree of accuracy
· Highly organised
· Problem solving and logical
· Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines
· Must be self-directed, with a “can do” attitude and be able to complete projects with limited supervision
· Minimum Grade C in GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
· IT literacy
· Interest in Computers
· Mechanical dexterity
· Fluent in spoken and written English
· Attention to detail
· Autonomy and independence in working
· Aspiration to learn and develop
· Right to work in the UK
Preferable;
· Past experience in production or assembly environment, particularly electronic assembly
· Knowledge of Computer Products and components
· Experienced assembler with no support required
· Experienced software installer and able to diagnose technical issues in production
· Experienced RMA engineer with diagnostics of product issues in final assembly
· Experience in a sales/purchasing environment particularly sales of computers and components
