Full job description

To assist with the smooth running of the daily activities in the receipt of requests for medicines and information relating to the supply of medicines. Provide assistance to other pharmacy staff working within their work area. To undertake planned work supported by the provision of clear standard operating procedures under the supervision of the Dispensary Manager. A structured, competency-based scheme will support the post holder.

Support the Pharmacy Dispensary by:
Providing a meet and greet/information function to patients, staff and visitors. Upholding Trust values and meeting GDPR standards.
Receiving physical and electronic prescriptions from patients and healthcare professionals.
Monitoring the Trusts electronic prescribing dashboard, printing electronic prescriptions and supply requests.
Monitoring and tracking the Pharmacy departments workflow by using the PTS tracker, ensuring that all bar coding and recording of work if correct.
Undertaking 'point of dispensing' checks for patient eligibility for free prescriptions.
Collecting prescription charges.
Ensure the patient waiting room meets very good patient experience standards.
Answer phone enquiries relating to the supply of medicines.
Provide a courteous, prompt and accurate response to personal and telephone enquiries into the department.
