Duty Manager / Tourism Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Duty Manager / Tourism Supervisor to join the team. This role is suited to an experienced tourism or retail professional with strong leadership abilities, operational awareness, and a proactive approach to driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the sales office, visitor services, and tourism activities to ensure smooth and efficient performance
Leading, supporting, and motivating team members to maintain high standards of customer service and operational excellence
Managing and coordinating staff rotas, shift cover, and daily operational duties
Supervising the sale of sightseeing tours, excursions, visitor attractions, and related tourism products
Monitoring sales performance and encouraging upselling opportunities to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction
Handling customer enquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally and efficiently
Ensuring all bookings, transactions, and sales records are accurately processed using the company booking system
Overseeing till operations, cash handling, and card payments in line with company procedures
Maintaining excellent product knowledge and ensuring staff are fully informed on tours, promotions, and visitor information
Supporting management with operational reporting, stock control, and general business administration
Ensuring the shop, sales areas, and surrounding workspaces are maintained to a high presentation standard at all times
Assisting with the upkeep and cleanliness of the ship/vessel and operational areas where required
Promoting the City Sightseeing brand in a professional and positive manner
Supporting the business during peak seasonal periods and assisting with additional operational requirements when necessary
Ensuring health, safety, and company policies are consistently followed by all team members

Requirements

Applicants must have:

Previous experience within retail, tourism, hospitality, travel, or customer service environments
Supervisory or team leadership experience within a customer-facing role
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail
A confident, professional, and approachable manner
Experience handling cash, tills, and booking/ticketing systems
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a management team
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours during peak seasonal demand

Preferred

Experience within tourism operations, attraction management, or excursion sales
Experience assisting with staff training, performance management, and team development
Knowledge of visitor attractions and the local tourism industry would be advantageous

Work Remotely

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Belfast BT2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Retail sales: 1 year (required)
