Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Locum Pharmacist to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis. Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
- Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and interactions
- Ensure proper medication storage, labelling, and documentation procedures are followed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
- Monitor patient responses to medication therapies and report any adverse reactions
- Maintain comprehensive records of all pharmaceutical activities in compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in managing stock levels and ordering supplies as needed
- Support the training of junior staff or locum colleagues when required
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Pharmacist, ideally with ICU experience or in acute care settings
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to medication administration
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient groups
- Proficiency in medication management systems and pharmacy software applications
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- Organised approach to workload management, prioritising tasks efficiently under pressure
- Flexibility to adapt to different clinical environments and organisational protocols
