This is a permanent, full-time, daytime role working Monday to Friday and offers a salary between £70,000.00 - £75,000.00 per annum, plus a car allowance. It follows a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working from home each week.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing and driving a robust portfolio management framework across the UK business, ensuring effective governance, prioritisation, resource planning, and delivery oversight for operational, automation, continuous improvement, and transformation initiatives.
Portfolio Management, Governance & Performance
Maintain a single view of all UK projects, including warehousing, automation, client onboarding, continuous improvement, and transformation initiatives
Drive portfolio prioritisation, balancing strategic goals, operational priorities, customer commitments, and resource capacity
Manage portfolio risks, dependencies, and delivery conflicts
Lead portfolio governance, reporting, and insights to support effective decision-making and strategic planning
Demand Management, Portfolio Planning & Resource Management
Establish a consistent process for capturing, assessing, and prioritising new opportunities, projects, and change requests
Create visibility of the UK project pipeline, ensuring demand aligns with business priorities, investment plans, and delivery capacity
Partner with stakeholders to shape opportunities into well-defined initiatives with clear scope, outcomes, requirements, and ownership
Support the development of business cases and investment decisions, ensuring initiatives are ready to enter delivery
Facilitate the transition from portfolio planning into project delivery, working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders
Work with leaders and project teams to understand resource demand, identify capacity constraints, and support effective portfolio planning
Financial PMO & Investment Governance
Partner with Finance to build and strengthen financial PMO capability across the UK portfolio
Support consistent financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio reporting
Establish scalable portfolio standards, reporting frameworks, and data-driven ways of working
Portfolio Capability, Tooling & Community Development
Lead the selection, implementation, and optimisation of portfolio management tools
Establish portfolio management standards, processes, and reporting frameworks that support future business growth
Drive adoption of portfolio management disciplines and best practices across the organisation
Champion the UK Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Change, and Transformation community across sites and functions
Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, consistency, and continuous improvement
Support the development of project, change, and transformation capability, creating a scalable foundation for growth and delivery excellence
Core Capabilities
Analyses complex operational processes end-to-end, identifies root causes of inefficiencies, and develops pragmatic, value-driven solutions that balance standardisation with operational realities.
Takes responsibility for defining and progressing transformation initiatives from concept to implementation, ensuring clarity of deliverables, quality of outcomes, and alignment with agreed objectives.
Works effectively across functions and geographies to align stakeholders, build consensus, and ensure smooth execution of initiatives that require coordination between operations, technology and support functions.
Profile:
7+ years' experience in Portfolio Management, PMO, Programme Management, Transformation, or Change Management roles
Proven experience establishing, developing, or improving portfolio management and PMO capabilities
Strong background within a 3PL, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or operational environment
Experience managing complex portfolios covering warehousing operations, automation projects, client onboarding, continuous improvement, and business transformation initiatives
Knowledge of warehouse automation technologies, including WMS, robotics, ASRS, sortation, and conveyor systems
Strong understanding of portfolio governance, prioritisation, demand management, resource planning, and financial management
Experience developing business cases, supporting investment decisions, and managing portfolio financial performance
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate portfolio data into clear business insights, priorities, and recommendations
Portfolio, Programme, or Project Management qualification such as MoP, P3O, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent
Experience with portfolio management platforms such as Jira, Atlassian, Wrike, Monday.com, or similar tools
Strong reporting and analytics capability using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent solutions
Experience implementing or optimising PMO and portfolio management tooling
Change Management certification (e.g. Prosci) désirable
Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or a related field desirable
Additional language skills beyond English are considered an advantage
