As Head of Training, you will lead the development and implementation of the training strategy across the organisation, ensuring that all training delivered is aligned with Ofsted standards, best practices, and the strategic objectives of Blue Mountain Homes. You will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of internal training programmes, working closely with Senior Management to meet the developmental needs of all colleagues. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality, innovative, and engaging learning opportunities that enhance the care and support provided to children and young people.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Head of Care
- Lead and manage the Training Department
- Deliver, coach, and support colleagues with the mandatory training requirements for the business
- Accountable for maintaining the company-wide training matrix and ensuring all mandatory and developmental training is up to date and fit for purpose.
- Build the capability of colleagues including managers with delivery of behaviour and technical training.
- Research, attend and deliver external training back to Blue Mountain Homes.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, adjusting programmes based on feedback and outcomes.
- Establish relationships with external training providers and develop opportunities to offer Blue Mountain Homes training to external audiences.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Other Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior training role, ideally within children’s residential care or a related social care setting.
- Recognised teaching/training qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training or above).
- Strong understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards.
- You need to be driven to deliver the best industry led skills training and willingness to understand the industry requirements.
- You should be able to deliver and display a wide range of training methods to engage learners.
- A continual desire to share your knowledge and best practice.
- Skilled in a variety of training delivery methods to suit diverse learning styles.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Exceptional planning, organisation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake further training in areas such as therapeutic parenting (e.g. PACE).
- Full, manual UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.
- Subject to an enhanced DBS and reference checks in line with safer recruitment
Desirable Attributes:
- Certification in Safety Intervention (or willingness to undertake).
- Experience in delivering training externally or managing accredited training programmes.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management qualities and have experience of working in a supervisory role within a social care environment.
- Be a good team player who possesses strong relationship building skills along with excellent people skills and demonstrate skills that can lead and motivate a team.
- Confident and excellent communicator.
- Be able to prioritise and multitask effectively
- To work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines
- Tenacious and passionate to help drive the quality of care.
- Be able to support colleagues when needed.
- Full manual driving licence with flexibility to travel if needed.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, Fulltime

Pay: £43,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
