We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic swimming instructor to join our fantastic team!
Mini Skool Fishes is a warm and welcoming pool with a family feel, we provide 1:1 lessons, baby sessions and adult sessions with the individual swimmer at the heart of what we do.
Mini Skool Fishes have an exciting opportunity for instructors who have a passion for all things swimming to deliver high quality 1:1 swimming lessons at our purpose built pool in Cramlington.
Our aim is to inspire people of all abilities and ages to learn to swim and to find a love of swimming. We have an outstanding reputation for customer service and we are looking to add to our team who can further enhance our programme and deliver high quality sessions.
Your role will be to ensure a customer-friendly service is provided in an engaging manner to develop the needs of swimmers whilst creating a fun and friendly customer-focused attitude to work. You must have a positive attitude, be motivating and have a love for swimming.
Duties
- Plan and deliver swimming lessons tailored to the needs of participants, ensuring clear progression and skill development
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety procedures to students of varying abilities
- Monitor water safety at all times, enforcing rules and responding promptly to emergencies if necessary
- Provide personalised feedback and encouragement to motivate learners and build their confidence in the water
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments for each participant
- Organise group activities or specialised sessions such as beginner classes or advanced training programmes
- Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with organisational policies and industry regulations
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to programme delivery and facility management
Requirements
- You must have an SEQ or STA swim teacher qualification (Level 2) But, if you are Level 1, we would love to hear from you too!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with learners of all ages
- Enthusiastic, patient, and able to motivate others in a positive manner
- Ability to work flexibly across scheduled lesson times, including evenings or weekends if required
- A genuine interest in promoting water confidence and water safety with all learners
Desired experience
- Pool plant operators qualification
- First Aid
- Baby and Toddler teaching qualification
Additional training will be provided by Mini Skool Fishes and additional CPD training courses will also be given throughout the year to ensure we are provide the very best service to all of our swimmers
Full-time hours with immediate starts - also covering long term sick
