Part-time and full-time hours available

**Minimum one year of kitchen experience required**

Slab Shop Pizzas is looking for two experienced Back of House Team Members to join our team at our Ouseburn site.

This is not a temporary student role or simply something to fill a few spare hours.

We are looking for dependable, committed people who want stable work, take pride in what they do and understand what is expected when working in a professional kitchen.

Here at our Ouseburn branch, a couple of our valued staff will both be leaving us at the beginning of September to pursue university, so we are looking to bring the right people into the team, get them fully trained and ensure a proper handover before they leave.

THE ROLE

This is primarily a Back of House kitchen position.

You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, building our Detroit-style pizzas, managing busy service periods and ensuring every order leaves the kitchen to the correct standard.

You will be expected to work independently when required, take ownership of your station and contribute properly to the wider team.

The role will include:

Preparing ingredients and completing daily kitchen prep

Building and cooking pizzas accurately to specification

Maintaining speed, quality and consistency during busy services

Keeping your station clean, organised and fully stocked

Following food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures

Completing opening and closing duties

Supporting stock rotation, deliveries and kitchen organisation

Communicating clearly with the rest of the team

Taking responsibility without needing to be constantly supervised

There may occasionally be some customer interaction or order handovers, but the majority of your work will take place in the kitchen.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are specifically looking for people who already understand how a busy kitchen operates.

You must have at least one year of previous kitchen experience within hospitality, food production, QSR, takeaway or a similar environment.

The right person will be:

· Reliable and punctual

· Comfortable working evenings and weekends

· Calm and organised during busy services

· Confident working independently

· Committed to maintaining high standards

· Clean, methodical and attentive to detail

· Able to take instruction and follow established processes

· Willing to take responsibility for their work

· Supportive of the people working around them

· Looking for a stable role rather than a short-term stopgap

· Experience matters for this position, but attitude is equally important.
