Vehicle Technician (Adventure Vehicle Upgrades)
ALTVAN Ltd
Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex
Full-time or Part-time (24–40 hours per week)
Salary: dependent on experience and hours worked
Join a growing adventure vehicle specialist.
Based in Bexhill-on-Sea, ALTVAN is a specialist workshop focused on Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Volkswagen Crafters, MAN TGEs and 4x4 vehicles.
Led by a Mercedes-Benz Commercial Master Technician with over 10 years' experience, we specialise in suspension systems, mechanical upgrades, expedition accessories, parts fabrication and off-grid electrical installations for customers travelling to us from across the UK.
As our business continues to grow, we're expanding beyond installations and into designing and manufacturing our own products, including our recently launched ALTVAN Stage 2 Lift Kit for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
If you're looking for something more rewarding than routine servicing and want to work on unique, technically interesting vehicles while helping shape the future of a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
We're far more interested in finding the right person than the perfect CV. Whether you're an experienced technician looking for a new challenge or a recently qualified college leaver with a genuine passion for vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
No two days are ever the same.
From fitting our own Stage 2 Lift Kit to developing new products and building expedition-ready vehicles, you'll be involved in projects that are rarely found in a traditional workshop.
You'll be involved in a wide range of exciting projects, including:
- Suspension upgrades and lift kit installations
- Routine servicing and repairs
- Air suspension systems
- Expedition and 4x4 accessory installation
- Fabrication and welding of bespoke vehicle components
- Leisure electrical system installations
- Campervan and adventure vehicle upgrades
- Assisting with new product development
This isn't a job where you'll spend every day carrying out routine servicing and MOT repairs. We're looking for someone who enjoys building, modifying and improving vehicles.
Who we're looking for
We'd love to hear from you if you're:
- A qualified Level 2/3 Vehicle Technician
- An experienced mechanic looking for something different
- A fabricator or welder with mechanical experience
- A mechanical fitter
- Recently qualified from college with a genuine passion for vehicles
- An interest in campervans, adventure vehicles or 4x4s
- Someone who's enthusiastic, practical and eager to learn
Training will be provided where required, so if you don't meet every point but believe you'd be a great fit, we'd still encourage you to apply.
Skills & Experience
The following experience would be beneficial, but isn't essential:
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Suspension installation
- Fabrication or welding
- Auto electrical work
- Campervan conversions
- 4x4 modifications

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has attention to detail, a positive attitude and enjoys learning new skills.

- Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities (24–40 hours per week)
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Ongoing training and development
