Job Title: QA Technician
Salary: Starting at £5,864.40 per annum
Hours: 5 shifts per week, Sunday to Thursday 18:00-00:00 hours

Position Overview
We have an exciting new opportunity for a QA Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Testing of dairy products.
- Carry out product and process quality checks to ensure compliance with customer and food safety standards.
- Create Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and complete sensory (organoleptic) shelf-life evaluations.
- Perform scale and metal detector checks to guarantee equipment accuracy and safety.
- Approve filling equipment for production and support release of finished goods.
- Monitor contamination controls, conduct foreign body investigations, and manage quarantined materials.
- Register samples for microbiological testing and assist in environmental swabbing.
- Audit paperwork, non-conformances, and packaging checks to maintain full traceability.
- Actively contribute to HACCP processes, GMP improvement initiatives, and site audits.
- Support project work, testing schedules, and equipment maintenance.
- Laboratory Testing Equipment Maintenance – ensuring regular calibration, cleaning, and functionality checks of laboratory instruments

Essential skills & experience:
- Basic understanding of food safety and quality standards.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Confident communicator — works well with production and QA teams.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage routine checks effectively.
Desirable skills:
- Experience in a food manufacturing or QA role.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and root cause analysis.
- Comfortable using QA or lab systems (e.g. LIMS).
- Flexible and eager to develop new skills.
