Full job description

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Foster a caring, safe, and supportive environment that promotes residents' wellbeing, dignity, independence, and happiness while meeting their individual needs.
Develop positive, trusting relationships with residents by understanding their personal preferences, interests, backgrounds, and individual care requirements.
Promote residents’ physical, emotional, social, and intellectual wellbeing through comprehensive assessments and the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of person-centred, relationship-based care plans.
Ensure all care records and documentation are accurately maintained, regularly reviewed, clearly communicated, and consistently acted upon by all staff members.
Engage residents, families, and key stakeholders in decision-making processes, embracing the principles of co-production and facilitating regular resident meetings to encourage participation in the daily life of the home.
Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop care staff through effective training, coaching, and performance management to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
Conduct regular observations and quality monitoring activities to assess care delivery, identify areas for improvement, and maintain excellent service standards across the home.
Work collaboratively with external professionals, including health and social care practitioners, commissioners, and regulatory bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Drive compliance through effective care plan management, medication oversight, quality assurance audits, and adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources to meet residents’ needs while maintaining financial and operational sustainability.
Oversee staffing rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels, fairness, and compliance with service and budget requirements.
Monitor and manage staff attendance, sickness, and unauthorised absences in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Lead and participate in activities, events, and initiatives that create meaningful experiences and positive memories for residents.
Build strong relationships with the local community to enhance social inclusion, community engagement, and partnership opportunities.
Champion innovation and the appropriate use of technology to improve service delivery, resident outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
Ensure full compliance with all legal and statutory requirements, including health and safety, safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights legislation.
Investigate complaints, incidents, and concerns promptly, producing detailed reports and implementing appropriate actions to achieve positive outcomes.
Maintain accountability for all staffing matters, including recruitment, induction, retention, performance management, and workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels at all times.
Promote the home effectively to support marketing objectives, community awareness, and occupancy targets.
Attend internal and external meetings as required and provide regular reports and updates to the Executive Committee.
Ensure care plans are reviewed and updated monthly, with comprehensive reviews completed at least every six months or sooner when residents’ needs change.
Monitor and evaluate quality assurance processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and service development.
Oversee medication management systems and ensure all required audits are completed accurately and within designated timescales.
Demonstrate innovative leadership and proactively identify opportunities to enhance service quality, resident outcomes, and operational performance.
Attend local care forums, professional networks, and sector events to remain informed about developments, legislation, and best practices within health and social care.

Pay: £45,000.00-£49,000.00 per year
