Overview
Are you a motivated and experienced commercial driver ready to take on an exciting tramper role? We’re seeking a dynamic HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team, delivering freight across regions with energy and precision. This position offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Duties

Safely operate a range of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and box trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety standards.
Load and unload freight efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity.
Plan routes effectively for long-haul trips, optimizing delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation for each trip, including delivery logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports.
Communicate clearly with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience in commercial driving roles such as shuttle driving, route driving, or freight transportation.
Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and heavy equipment operation.
Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy haul, heavy equipment operation, and load securing techniques.
Experience with warehouse operations or logistics environments is advantageous.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and clients.
Ability to handle physical tasks such as moving freight using pallet jacks or forklift trucks when necessary.
Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
