Highwood Care Home is a brand new, purpose-built facility nestled in the picturesque and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury care home offers a warm and welcoming environment for up to 67 residents, providing Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care. Housekeeping Assistant Contract

£12.21 per hour
Contracted to 32 hours per week
Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial
Previous experience is welcomed but not essential
