Job title Project Manager

Reports to Head of Project Managers

Location: Stow Maries, Essex

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Dependent on experience (DOE)

Work Location: In person

About the Role

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for a highly organised and experienced Project Manager to join our team.

This is a busy, varied and fast-paced role, requiring someone with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with our internal Sales, Accounts, Design, Production and Logistics teams, as well as communicating directly with external customers daily.

The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from the initial brief through to completion, ensuring that work is delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.

Please note: Our premises are in Stow Maries, which is a relatively remote location and is not accessible by public transport. Candidates will therefore need to have their own reliable means of transport.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal teams and external customers.
Receive project briefs from Account Managers and manage projects through to successful completion.
Liaise closely with Account Managers, Production and Design teams to achieve the required project outcomes.
Arrange for customer orders to be processed and entered onto Sage 50.
Source materials and negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of production processes and how projects move through each stage of manufacture.
Coordinate and schedule customer deliveries with the Logistics team.
Complete accurate Job Sheets with all relevant information required by Production to deliver projects on time and to specification.
Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects.
Respond to customer and internal queries and proactively resolve potential issues.
Work closely with Production to inspect and approve first-off samples before full production, ensuring they meet the agreed drawings, specifications, dimensions, materials, finishes and customer requirements.
Monitor and manage project budgets and costs.
Take full ownership and accountability for assigned projects.
Prioritise workloads effectively and ensure agreed deadlines are met.
Work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
Maintain a positive, professional and proactive “can-do” attitude.

Candidates with experience or strong knowledge in the following areas will have an advantage:

Acrylic, wood, metal and other manufacturing materials.
Plastic fabrication techniques and woodworking.
The POS/POP (Point of Sale/Point of Purchase) industry.
Manufacturing or project management environments where products are made to customer specifications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including dimensions, specifications, materials and finishing requirements.
Previous experience working in a production-based or manufacturing environment.
An understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and production requirements.
Desirable Industry Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Good working knowledge of Sage 50.
Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Strong written and spoken English.
Strong numeracy and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
The ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
