DFP Services are hiring for a Finance Assistant

As our business continues to grow, we are on the lookout for a Finance Assistant to support our busy Finance Department – a crucial role supporting the smooth operation of our day-to-day financial activities. The Role
As a Finance Assistant, you'll bring strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of purchase ledger processes to ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll support the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and help ensure suppliers are paid on time. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key finance activities while developing your skills within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

The Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:

· Accurately code and process supplier invoices

· Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve any discrepancies

· Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and account matters

· Onboard new suppliers and conduct due diligence checks in line with company policies and compliance requirements

· Record and reconcile outgoing bank payments, ensuring accuracy and completeness

· Monitor and manage shared finance mailboxes, responding to internal and external enquiries promptly and professionally

· Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and the preparation of financial reports

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with company policies

· Provide administrative support to the Finance Team as required

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is:

· Meticulous, organised and analytical

· Proactive and capable of working independently or collaboratively

· Confident in communicating with colleagues and external contacts

· Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

The Training

· Our supportive team will guide you through our systems and processes, ensuring you’re fully equipped to succeed in the role.

The Essential Criteria

Proven experience in a similar role within finance or accounts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience using Sage 50 Accounts

The Hours

Monday to Friday
8:00am – 4:30pm
40 hours per week
