Overview
Eston Glass Ltd is looking for a skilled Glazier/ joiner to join our small team within our family run business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in glass installation and repair, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. The Glazier will be responsible for handling various types of glass, ensuring proper installation and maintenance in residential and commercial settings.
Duties
- Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions using hand tools and power tools.
- Install glass in windows, doors, and other structures, ensuring proper sealing and fitting.
- Repair broken or damaged glass by removing old glass and replacing it with new material.
- Work with various types of glass including tempered, laminated, and insulated glass.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and electricians to ensure seamless integration of glass installations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client queries and ensuring satisfaction with completed work.
- The company offers a 24 hour call-out service and this role will include call-out cover on a rota basis outside of normal working hours. You will be paid a weekly standby fee and also paid for each call-out attended.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Glazier / joiner or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, and drills, as well as power tools for cutting and shaping glass.
- Carrying out all types of glazing and maintenance work from shop windows to door panels.
- Measuring and estimating jobs.
- Completing paperwork and any client compliance paperwork.
- Attending site to glaze or make safe properties.
